My first blog to launch TheFeminineTouch on Etsy

This is my first time blogging , writing down my thoughts for the world to see. Sounds fun :)

My main reason for blogging is promote my shop on Etsy - http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheFeminineTouch

My shop was opened in September last year , with only a few items for sale. Testing the water , to see if there was a market for my lovely feminine hand knitted items. The number of items has steadily risen and is now a staggering 36 !!

 I've been knitting like mad !! I'm also learning new techniques and patterns. I'd never knitted lace patterns before so it was a joy picking up the lovely mohair yarn and making really pretty lace wraps with them

As well as knitting accessories I am also scouring round charity shops , picking up old woollen jumpers and recycling tham into handbags and brooches. I am really keen on making things from virtually nothing and if I can share my finds with the Etsy community then I feel that I'm helping the planet too.

This handbag was made from a lovely woollen jumper I found in my local charity shop. It has been given a polyester lining with a light padding inbetween the outer and inner lining.  Handmade leather handles (purchased from Etsy) were added to complete the bag.

Where I can , I combine my felting and knitting together. For example this handbag was knitted and then lined with a piece of felt made from a beautiful lambswool jumper
