Instructions

Cast on 96 stitches on 10 mm needles (35mm long), work with 2 strands of yarn.

Each row starts and ends with 6 knitted stitches. The cable pattern is 24 stitches wide and there is again 6 knitted stitches between each cable pattern [6 knits +24 pattern + 6 knits +24 pattern +6 knits +24 pattern + 6 knits].

The written instructions below are for all 96 stitches across the row. The charts just show the 24 pattern stitches. Use whichever instructions you feel comfortable with.

It’s imperative you keep track of what row you are on. I keep a note in a notebook AND move a “post it note ” down the page.

    1. T4L Twist 4 left - Cross 1st and 2nd stitches in front over 3rd and 4th stitches, purl 2, knit 2.

Another way of saying it is

T4L Twist 4 left - Put the first 2 stitches onto a cable needle and hold in front of the work, purl 2, knit 2 from the cable needle.

  4. I tried to make this blanket and restarted it twice and failed. I've had experience knitting blankets in the past. When I tried to make the blanket wider, I increased my count as suggested above adding an additional 60 stitches. It still didn't come out with the right number of stitches to complete the pattern. Since I added stitches to widen, I assumed that I would continue with the pattern in each row two additional times. Can you help? Frustrated.

    1. The pattern repeat is 24 stitches and with the 6 Knit stitches in between each pattern repeat in theory adding an additional 60 stitches means you knit the pattern and the knit stitches in between two additional times.
